It’s funny how much money, time, and effort goes into one day.
Haven’t slept in two days… but I’m enjoying it all.

After my intern’s third trip to the gas station to buy me red bull, I decided to take a second and provide another update — only 15 days remaining until E-Day!
That’s only 360 Hours or 21,600 Minutes
A while back ago, my father found a pic of me published on the AP Wire in the ‘War Room’ while the DNC was going on. I kept forgetting to post it.

I’m on the right doing something on the computer. (I really don’t remember at all)
The ongoing joke is that that my family’s having a “McCain Christmas” with the amount of stuff that we’re getting out here - all kinds of bumper stickers, t-shirts, hats, etc - so we better win, or else they better like McCain stuff. (I’m only partially kidding about this too)
Only 20 days until I’m officially unemployed. I have realized a few different avenues in front of me, but can’t decided on any of them… I have no idea what to do, so like any good blogger - I’m letting my readers (All 3 of them) decided for me. Please vote below and let me know what you think I should do — also if you have a suggestion or idea not listed - feel free to leave a comment.
What should Drew do after Nov. 4th?
Here’s my plan:
Nov 4th (Election Day): Stay up really late drinking all kinds of ’soda’
Nov 5th: Take a much needed morning off - go to the office and start packing up and loading my car
Nov 6th: Finish packing and loading - Jake’s coming into town (Thank you BSA), so party like a rockstar
Nov 7th: Wake-up early and start driving to Kansas City
Nov 8th: NLS in KC
Nov 9th-??: Party in Kansas, visiting friends (If I still have any after this)
Nov 12/13th: Go visit my family for a little while
Nov 14th: End up in Lincoln and enjoy not doing anything
Nov 17: Job hunting and hopefully starting something by Nov 20th (Bartending???)

This morning I dropped my personal BlackBerry (I say ‘personal’ to differentiate between my Nebraska and Colorado BB’s) and the trackball won’t scroll down. So this morning I’m spending time searching for solutions and taking the phone apart since I don’t have the time to go to Sprint. By the end of the day, I should be a BB expert.

I’ve decided that an update is needed.
The last month has gone by so fast and somewhere between my 16 hour days/everyday keeping my friends and family updated has fallen to the wayside. This has been the hardest and most challenging experience of my life. I’m not going to make a judgment until after E-Day about if this was worth it all, but in the mean-time; suffice it to say that everyone is tired, worn-out, and excited to be within T-minus: 30 days.
I’ve now started to turn my attention to my post-election life and what I want to do.
- I miss Nebraska
- I want no responsibility for at least two months after
- I need a job that I could quit at a moments notice without any problems
So far, Bartending is leading my prospect list. So I spend the last night looking through job postings back in Lincoln. In all I applied for three different positions: a normal restaurant/bar, a catering company, and a downtown college bar. I got an e-mail back already asking why I wanted to go from a Presidential race to bartending. After telling them that I needed something with no responsibility at all - I was told to come in once I got back if I wanted to start.
As Ben would say, “What a great use of a college education, lol”.
Until next time, if you have any job suggestions: let me know. (Bum is not an option as I must pay bills)

I’m feeling extra generous today and I would like to offer some tips for you uber lib staffers with the upcoming Democratic Convention in Denver. Whenever I need a laugh, I just go over to the DailyKos and read the comments. It’s like a giant orgy of democratic talking points and patting each other on the back.
But there are a few items I wish to clear up for you:
- Unlike McDonalds – ‘Mc’ cannot be universally put in front of every word and have it make sense. i.e.: McBush, McSame, McPain, McWar, McOil, etc.
- When posting on a blog, you lose credibility when you say (a) You haven’t worked in four years (b) As a former GOP… (seriously though, have you ever voted for a republican?) (c) I’m not a member of the campaign staff, (d) You reside in San Francisco, Bolder, or Detroit, and/or (e) You post on the blog more than 20 times in a day (goes back to the job thing)
- Campaigns are not about the past, they are about the future. Don’t understand what I’m talking about? Think of the last three presidential races and the main idea that you remember for why people were telling you to vote for the Democrat
-2000 Gore (Just like Clinton and the 90’s will live for ever)
-2004 Kerry (I’m not Bush)
-2008 Obama (Yes we can! “a.k.a.: No Bush Third”)
- Hope and Change are not counter-arguments to every critique of your guy. “The economy’s bad, dollar’s down, gas is increasing. But through our HOPE we can CHANGE Washington.” New idea: How are you going to do that? It’s hard, I know… but give it a stab.
- Speaking of Washington: Unless you are hiring a city planner, you are not going to change Washington. Washington has been around for over two hundred years and (sorry to say) but no politician is going to change anything. Corruption? Yes. Greed? Yes. Scandal? Yes. But don’t those same things exist in every office?
- Finally – Talking Points are your friend. They make you seem less like a crazy lunatic and more like an informed participant in the conversation.
(In the interest of the Fairness Doctrine, the last point could extend to some Neo-Cons as well)
